Choose Your Path…

As we have seen in the stories “The Lady, Or the Tiger?” and The Odyssey, often it may seem that we have control over our fate, when in reality the path may be predestined. For this project, I recall the first books I read as a child called “Choose your Own Adventure”. We are going to create our own version of these classics.

You and your group members will design a story where the reader has an active role in the outcome. Then you will turn your story into a picture book like the classic “Choose your Own Adventure” stories

You will create a story centered on one of the characters from The Odyssey that tells what happened after the epic ends. There must be at least FOUR possible choices to be made, and all students are to help make AT LEAST two pages. See my web story as a model of this.

Begin by mapping the plot outline, and then craft the story for each segment. This is your opportunity to explore creative writing, and I expect the stories to be logical and engaging. Don’t forget, the characters must act according to what we know about them from The Odyssey.

You will be graded on your ability to create an engaging and creative look to the webpage (pictures, color, sounds?), a story that makes sense in the context of its genre, and its grammatical and mechanical structure. Along with the final story, you will be asked to turn in a poster map of the story and its choices.

I look forward to your creations and think that you will have fun seeing your end products. Good luck!
